International Song Contest
This Contest is open to Songwriters WORLDWIDE
Artists entering the West Coast Songwriters (WCS) International Song Contest 2011 have the chance to win an impressive grand prize package and a smaller prize pack for winners in each category.
Prizes Include:
- The grand prize Winner will receive an Epiphone Performer SE Acoustic/Electric guitar with a hard case plus WCS t-shirt, and official Winner certificate. They will also be given a Conference Pass for the 31st Annual WCS Music Conference September 10 and 11, 2011 (including lodging at a nearby hotel). If the winner is a performing songwriter they will also be invited to perform their winning song at the Sunset Concert at the Conferencein front of all the music industry guests.
- Individual category winners will receive an ADK Audiophile Series A-51 microphone worth $270 plus WCS t-shirt, and official Winner certificates.
Categories include: Rock, Pop, Jazz, Country, World, Americana, Gospel/Inspirational, Blues, R&B, Folk, Hip-Hop, Latin, Humorous, Children’s, Instrumental, Singer/Songwriter, Adult Contemporary and Miscellaneous/Other. There is an “Instrumental” category, but not a “lyric only” category. All songs must be original.
This Contest is open to amateur and professional songwriters. Signature of parent/guardian required for each entrant under 18 years of age. Employees of WCS, their families, subsidiaries, and affiliates are not eligible.
Winners will be selected by an Executive Committee comprised of noted singer/songwriters. Judges and Conference guests include Hit Songwriters and producers Narada Michael Walden, Steve Seskin, Andre Pessis, George Merrill, Bonnie Hayes, and others. Songs will be judged based on melody, composition, and lyrics (when applicable). The quality of performance and production will not be considered. Prizes will be awarded jointly to all authors of any song.
The prize winners will be announced on this website (http://www.westcoastsongwriters.org), press releases and via all social networking tools.
