Rocket21 Contest
Kids these days have a hard time with so many issues. If it's not too much school work; all the after school activities they're signed up for or even just being online playing games all the time - it's not like it used to be. Freedom of expression, time to relax and time to dream seem to be a thing of the past.
In todays society, our kids are online too much and some have been the victim of bullying campaigns. Unlike school, years ago, these victims and bully's are invisible as many incidents take place online and have led to the most frightening experience for parents: the suicide of their child. The world is a different place now and we need to protect our children and help them build an inner strength to deal with things.
For this reason, Rocket21 and West Coast Songwriters have partnered to help students cope, express themselves and dream for the future with a Youth Songwriting Competition. Dream in Tune is the latest wave in Rocket21's Dream Here -Dream Big Contest.
Rocket 21 supports kids' dreams daily by connecting with inventive partners who help design one-in-a-lifetime opportunities to inspire the immaginations and build the passion of our youth today. That's where WCS fits in. As the most active songwriting organization in the country, hundreds of talented members and a long list of industry leaders, it's only natural that we would partner with Rocket21 to help the youth of today.
The judges for the competition will be music industry executives and some of the WCS Board Members. The deadline for entries is December 19th and the grand prize winner will be the guest of a GRAMMY member at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2012.
So remember, please.... take time to let those kids relax, dream and be given the opportunity to express themselves in some manner; be it writing, painting or songwriting.
