Looking forward to the Conference

The Annual West Coast Songwriter’s Conference is HERE! Are you ready?

by WCS Blogger Whitney Nichole

After attending the 2010 WCS Conference, I have been counting the days until this one. Well folks, the weekend is upon us! Friday Night kicks off with a networking event that you don’t want to miss. Held at CIBO in Palo Alto, it’s a chance to chat one on one with all of amazing guests that will be contributing to this magical weekend. Have some dinner and drinks and get your mingling and networking on!

Saturday dives right in. Starting at 10:30am, you have your choice between joining the legendary songwriter Steve Seskin who will host a seminar on “Rhyming & Metaphor” – The Brabec brothers (Todd & Jeff) with Ned Hearn, discussing the nitty gritty of how to actually make money in the music industry today – and then a full panel of six industry professionals covering what else… “The Future of the Music Industry!” The day continues with highlights including the famous voice teacher Dave Stroud leading a not to be missed Vocal Master Class – Nashville pro’s spilling all their knowledge on the elusive TN music scene – and an interview of Glen Phillips (singer-songwriter from Toad the Wet Sprocket).

After a day of business - don’t miss the Sunset Concert Saturday night, featuring both established hit songwriters and up and coming WCS contest winners throughout the past year!

Sunday’s events are even more exciting – filled with seminars by Judy Stakee, Steven Memel, and the hit duo Karmina! Bring your instrument and your latest songs too – because an Open Mic, Song Screenings & One-on-ones will be happening throughout the weekend.  Browse through the main quad to see all of the wonderful sponsors who helped make this weekend possible. And don’t forget to say hello to Ian & Joanie Crombie – the magic-makers who keep West Coast Songwriters alive and thriving. Join us for an amazing weekend!
