How do I renew my membership?

Photo compliments of  The Real David Francis

I hear, through the wonderful WCS grapevine, that there have been numerous issues with members trying to renew their membership.  Perhaps I can help explain how this should be done online.... trust me, if I can do it...anyone can!  So, here it goes, a step by step instruction outline.

1. Members need to log in to the website (Upper Right Hand corner of the screen).  Log in with whatever name, email or band title that you originally used to register.

2. Put your password in and hit enter.... The crazy thing here is that you will be brought back to the original page telling you to sign in.  But if you look at the top, where you put your log in name you will see that it says "Welcome ....."  This now means you are signed in.  We're working to fix this little bug, but it's a problem with Drupal - not the actual log in page.  Hopefully that will be fixed before the beginning of the next century.

3. Now that you're logged in you can either go directly to the "SHOP" page and order your membership.  As you are signed in, the system knows that you are renewing your membership and attributes it to your account.  Go through the steps of purchasing the correct membership (Individual, Band, Youth or Contributing).  Follow the steps for entering your credit card etc...and amazingly some little mouse in the back of the computer knows what to do.  You will see that your payment is listed in your account (that's why you need to sign in!) and you will have your membership renewed.  It's that simple!~

HOWEVER, if you go to any of the CHAPTER pages, you will see a link saying, RENEW MY MEMBERSHIP.  You can click on that link too and that will take you directly to the SHOP page as well where you will need to purchase your new membership.

Once you've done this you will notice that your membership has been extended by another year so you should be free to attend any of the competitions, screenings and receive discounts on the annual Music Conference.  Speaking of the conference, I sincerely hope that your New Year's Resolution is to save your pennies each month so that you can attend the conference in September and meet fellow members and connect with the numerous industry guests who fly in from around the world to help you move your career on to the next level.

I hope this little instruction outline helps... If you have any other problems with renewing your membership, please email me and I'll get you registered directly.

Oh...and a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR to all the many WCS Members, Chapter Managers, Contributors, Advisory Board and Board of Directors - as well as all those who are considering becoming members of one of the most active music organizations in the USA.  We're here to help and would love to get to know each and every one of you in 2012~

Renewal..

Renewal is based on the date you originally signed up.  If you joined in April, you will renew in April.... That little mouse in the computer will send you a note saying your membership is about to expire....

Happy New Year!!
