Mix Mingle Make Music & Make Merry 2010

Twas the week before Christmas & WCS'ers gathered at the Union Room of Biscuits & Blues in San Francisco to Mix, MIngle, Make Music & Make Merry!  Awesome raffle prizes were won, including a Video Shoot, CD Mastering, One on One sessions with Larry Batiste, a Vocal Lesson from Tony Lindsay (Santana's lead singer).  A splendid time was had by all!

2010 Music Conference

2010 Song Competition Finals

Regional Winners of The Dan Howell Best Song of the Year Award in the West Coast Songwriters Competition -- Grand Finals held at the Freight & Salvage in Berkeley compete in the Grand Finals!  The 1st, 2nd & 3rd place awards earned an invitation to perform at the West Coast Songwriters 30th Annual Music Conference's coveted Sunset Concert on September 11, 2010 at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California.

Spring Fling Sing Thing

March 21st 2010, WCS Members gathered for an evening of music, friendship and networking.

Karmina House Concert 2010

On March 20th, 2010 the dynamic duo, Kelly and Kamille Rudisell (KARMINA) delighted an audience of 35 people at the private home of our very own WCS Board Member, Tami Mulcahy and family in Los Altos, CA.

The evening was incredibly moving and inspirational as both girls explained the background to each song, sometimes to the surprise of their own manager and mother, Robin Best.

Ticket price was $35 per person and included wine and hors d'oeuvres for the guests.

Hero's Last Mission visit Palo Alto High School Career Day

March 4th, 2010 the Sacramento based band, Hero's Last Mission came to the bay area to attend "Career Day" at Palo Alto High School.

The room was filled with students interested in a career in the music industry.  HLM members Quentin Garcia, Lee Hurtado and Julian Mendoza talked about their career and how much work it takes to get known.

Thank you HLM!  You were fabulous at your talk and your support of WCS.

2009 Holiday Party

December 13th 2009, All members of WCS, Industry Guests and Executive and Advisory Board got together at the San Francisco Union Room, at Biscuit and Blues for an evening of music, friendship and sharing.

Owner Steven Suen, and member of WCS, very kindly sponsored the event with food for the hungry guests.

WCS holds quarterly events for all members.

Jen Adan's #1 Hit Song

February 2009:  WCS Member Jen Adan came home to the Bay Area to celebrate her song, performed by legend performer - Blake Shelton.  "She Wouldn't Be Gone" made #1 for two weeks in a row in February 2009.

2009 Songwriters Grand Finale

Held at Freight and Salvage, the finalists from each chapter performed in front of a house full of friends, family and industry members.  The winning songwriter(s) have the opportunity to perform at the Annual WCS Music Conference, Sunset Concert in front of a full house of fellow musicians, including 60+ industry leaders.

I Do it for Love, Sara Bareilles Benefit Concert

July 11th, 2009 WCS and Music For Minors joined forces to arrange our first concert benefitting both organizations. The event was an evening to remember.

The location:  The magnificent Atherton estate of Heidi Roizen and David Mohler

Over 300 people attended the event for an evening of great food, laughter (a bit of rain) and incredible music by WCS Members Eoin Harrington, Karmina and winner of the WCS international song competition (her first award) in 2004, Sara Bareilles.

Our emcee for the evening was the fabulous afternoon DJ for Alice Radio 97.3 Marcus D.  His wit, timing and crowd pleasing manner brought the crowd to their feet on more than one occasion.

Thank you to all that attended and especially to all our fabulous sponsors for the evening.

The second weekend in September has traditionally been the Up Close and Personal Music Conference for songwriters, performers, those interested in working in the industry and industry guests to network, collaborate and build strong relations.   

2001 Songwriters Grand Finals

Every August all locations from WCS pull together their top songwriters from the season for a grand final competition held at The Freight and Salvage in Berkeley.  The top three winners are invited to the annual Music Conference in September to perform at the Sunset Concert in front of all the industry leaders, friends, family and attendees interested in listening to some of the best songs from the area.
